You may want to change your password for security reasons, or you may have forgotten your password and you want to reset it. Please refer to the password guidelines at the bottom of this page before changing your password.
Option 1: Change your password
If you know your existing password, but wish to change it, follow these instructions:
In a web browser, open the following link: https://portal.office365.com
Sign-in with your existing username & password
Click Settings (COG top right) > Select "Change your Password."
Enter your old password, and then type a new password and confirm it.
Click Submit.
Option 2: Reset your password
If you have forgotten your existing password, please follow these instructions:
- In a web browser, open the following link: https://portal.office365.com
- Enter your sign-in email address.
- Click "Forgot my password"
Error?: "You can't reset your own password because password reset isn’t properly set up for your organization".
If you receive the above error, please contact Serendipiti (or ask your Office 365 Systems Administrator) for assistance.
- On the User verification page, type your work or school account name, enter the characters to verify that you're not a robot, and then select Next
- Select Email as the contact method to use for verification. click Next
- Keep the Microsoft 365 browser window open while you go to your alternate email to get the verification code.
- Go back to the Microsoft 365 browser window, enter the code you received in email, and select Next.
- Enter a new password, confirm it, and then select Finish.
Password guidelines
When you create a new password, please consider the following:
- Use 8 to 16 characters
- Create a strong password that can’t be easily guessed.
- Use a mixture of characters, including:
- Lowercase letters
- Uppercase letters
- Numbers (0-9)
- Symbols. ie: _ £ $ / # - ~ ( ) < > ~ % " + * = @
