Office 365 has a great anti-spam filter, so unless you are particularly effected by spam, there is no real need for third-party anti-spam solutions once you move to Office 365.   Below are some instructions on how to train your mailbox as to what IS or what ISNT spam.


HOW TO LOCATE YOUR JUNK E-MAIL FOLDER:



The junk email folder is located in your mailbox:





Monitor this folder regularly for emails so that you can train Outlook.






HOW TO TRUST AN ITEM IN YOUR JUNK FOLDER:


If an email has landed in your junk emails folder that you wish to trust in future, apply these steps to trust it in future:



Browse to the Junk Emails folder.


Right click the email you wish to trust.  


Click JUNK, then click NOT JUNK :




Tick ALWAYS TRUST EMAIL...




Click OK   



The message will be automatically moved to your Inbox and will not arrive in the Spam folder again.





HOW TO BLOCK A SENDER FROM YOUR INBOX


If an email has landed in your inbox that you want to always redirect to junk, train it as follows:



Right click the email from your inbox. 


Click JUNK, then click BLOCK SENDER :



The message will be automatically moved to your junk email folder, and will not arrive in the Inbox again.




HOW TO RETUNE YOUR JUNK EMAILS SETTINGS


The default setting for junk is "set to low".  If you are experiencing a high volume of Junk, you may wish to retune the settings.



Browse to the Junk Emails folder.


Right click the email you wish to trust.  


Click JUNK, then click JUNK EMAIL OPTIONS: 





In the options tab, select as preferred from the list of options (ie. select "High")






You can also view these tabs:


SAFE SENDERS:  senders you have trained by clicking "not junk" option.


BLOCKED SENDERS:  senders you have training by clicking "block sender"








HOW TO EMPTY YOUR JUNK EMAIL FOLDER


If you are sure your junk email folder contains only Junk, you can empty the entire contents as follows:



Right click on the Junk Email folder



Click EMPTY FOLDER:



When prompted to delete, click YES:
