Summary:  These instructions explain how to set up a mobile device to send and receive your Office 365-hosted primary mailbox AND any shared mailboxes you are permitted to access.     If you already receive emails to this address on your mobile device, please delete that account before starting.



What you will need:


1/ An Apple ID (to download the Outlook App)     How to set up an Apple ID

2/ A primary mailbox in Office 365

3/ The username & Password to your Office 365 Account

IPHONE / IPAD INSTRUCTIONS


> Option One: Using the Outlook App for iPhone (Recommended)



The following instructions relate to iOS version 14.0 or later. Please ensure your iPhone or iPad device is up to date before following these instructions.  





To connect to a Primary Mailbox using the Outlook App:



On the device, download MICROSOFT OUTLOOK from the App Store


Now Open OUTLOOK on the device


Email:  {enter your Office 365 email address} > Click NEXT


        [if prompted, chose "WORK OR SCHOOL ACCOUNT"]


Password:  {enter your Office 365 password} > Click SIGN IN


At the prompt "would you like to add another account", click MAYBE LATER


At the prompt "enable notifications" - click TURN ON


At the prompt "Outlook would like to send you notifications" - click ALLOW






To connect to a Shared Mailbox using Outlook App:



On the device, connect your Primary Mailbox first (instructions above)


Open Outlook on your device


Tap the following icon:  




Tap the following icon:  





click ADD SHARED MAILBOX


enter the address of the shared mailbox (ie. "sales@yourdomain.co.uk")


Click ADD SHARED MAILBOX


Your Shared Mailbox has now been added.



To switch between mailboxes, tap this icon


 


Tap the desired mailbox to move between each one.





IPHONE / IPAD INSTRUCTIONS


> Option Two: Using the Mail App for iPhone


The following instructions relate to iOS version 14.0 or later. Please ensure your iPhone or iPad device is up to date before following these instructions.    Note.  A primary email account works well on the iPhone MAIL app.  However, if you want to manage a shared mailbox on your phone in addition to your primary, we recommend using the Outlook APP for iPhone.


To connect your Primary Mailbox using Mail App for iPhone:


click SETTINGS MAIL > ACCOUNTS


click ADD ACCOUNT


select MICROSOFT EXCHANGE


EMAIL:   enter your email address


DESCRIPTION:  enter a description (ie. your email address)


click NEXT


click SIGN-IN


        [if prompted, chose "WORK OR SCHOOL ACCOUNT"]


enter your Office 365 Account password 


click SIGN-IN


click ACCEPT


            click SAVE
